Project Abstract

This study examined drivers’ adaptation behavior when interacting with connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technologies while driving on actual roads, and furthered understanding of the positive and negative safety consequences of those advanced technologies.

Project Outcome

(1) Computational models to predict drivers’ decision making in adapting to CAV safety systems, and (2) quantification of safety consequences from drivers’ adaptation behavior.
