Why Become a Member?
Mcity envisions a new world of mobility that dramatically improves transportation safety, sustainability, equity, and accessibility for the benefit of society. As a public-private partnership our partners in industry, government, and academia are our foundation.
We encourage membership from diverse industries and organizations – automotive, law, insurance, non-profit foundations – to work together and help address questions and issues that no single entity can resolve alone.
Leadership Circle
Leadership Circle members participate in a variety of focused activities and guide Mcity strategy. Members invest $600,000 in Mcity over three years. This fixed three-year term requires two-thirds of your investment contributed directly to pooled research. Options for tailored research are available at an additional $50,000 minimum.
Membership allows your team to:
- Drive data collection and insight into areas that have value for your research initiatives
- Meet quarterly with the Mcity team
- Attend research reviews and other Mcity-sponsored events
- Award pooled research dollars
- Have preferential use of the Mcity Test Facility at reduced rates
- Access over 70 data sets
- Participate in working groups: Accessibility; Connected and Automated Vehicles; Cybersecurity; Legal, Liability & Insurance; Outreach
- Inform and collaborate with government on innovation for the public good
- Get access to talent: students and startups
- Access Members Only content within the Mcity online portal

Affiliates
Affiliate members participate in a variety of focused activities, but have no voting power at Mcity. Affiliate members invest $150,000 over three years.
Membership allows your team to:
- Attend research reviews and other Mcity-sponsored events
- Have preferential use of the Mcity Test Facility at reduced rates
- Access over 70 data sets
- Participate in working groups with Leadership Circle approval: Accessibility; Connected and Automated Vehicles; Cybersecurity; Legal, Liability & Insurance; Outreach
