OBJECTIVE

Design and implement a model deployment of a vehicle-on-demand transportation system.

APPROACH

We propose to develop and deploy an automated transportation system on North Campus using mostly-autonomous golf-cart style vehicles. The focus of this proposal is to enable and accelerate the research that can be pursued once such a transportation system exists. Consequently, the complexity of the vehicles and autonomy are deliberately minimized.

OUTCOME

Low-cost autonomous platforms like ours are cost-effective and capable.  Viable route for on-demand transportation system or “dummy” cars for autonomous testing.

Platform demonstrates viability and cost-effectiveness of Low Speed Electric Vehicles.
