In the Fall 2019 issue of Gridsmart’s #talkITS magazine, Mcity Director Huei Peng explains the importance of roadmanship and the reasons we want AVs to drive like people.
Without proven roadmanship self-driving cars may never earn consumer trust and confidence at a level necessary to support their widespread adoption.
To help assess AV safety and measure roadmanship, Mcity has developed a test-track based procedure, the Mcity ABC Test, that could emerge as the basis for a voluntary safety testing standard.
